Board-Certified Veterinary Anesthesiologist – Katy, TX
Job Description: Veterinary Dentistry Specialists is a single-specialty referral hospital that specializes in dentistry and oral surgery primarily in dogs and cats. We managed a wide breadth of oral surgery cases, from jaw fracture management to oral oncologic surgery. Our offices are staffed with a board-certified veterinary dentist and board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist in addition to VTS anesthesia and dentistry technicians. We currently have 3 locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas. We provide the best anesthesia equipment available to the veterinary practitioner and in particular we offer the satisfaction of caring for many patients that have not received or would not otherwise receive care due to anesthetic risk or fear of anesthesia on the part of the pet parent.
VDS Katy, located in a suburb of Houston, TX, is seeking a full-time Diplomate of the ACVAA with minimum of 5 years of post-residency experience. However, locum or part-time candidates will be considered in the interim. We have a strong preference for candidates with experience working in private practice. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of internal medicine and cardiology and demonstrate the ability to start a new anesthesia service from the ground up. We seek an anesthesiologist who is organized and demonstrates strong leadership skills. The candidate must have the ability to provide specialty-level patient care in a day surgery type of setting. We seek a person who is eager to interact with the referring veterinary community, offer education, and build relationships with existing and new referring veterinarians. A willingness to speak with pet parents about anesthesia risks and why VDS would be the best choice for their pet is required. The candidate must be willing to provide post-operative care and be available to speak with pet parents after discharge if necessary. The candidate must also be able to develop hospital efficiency and handle a busy case load as the hospital grows.
Our practice offers full benefits, incuding a flexible schedule, medical insurance, group-sponsored 401(k) and a healthy continuing education stipend. We offer room for career growth in addition to being able to consult on off-days with other veterinary facilities in the area if desired. In addition, we will support and sponsor candidates wishing to pursue training in echocardiogram. We offer tremendous earning potential, no holiday, weekend, or on-call other than the occasional phone call on rotating weekends. We also offer a compensation package for those candidates relocating from out of state. Our office prides itself on fostering an excellent working environment and collegial relationship between dentist and anesthesiologist with an appreciation for the value that the anesthesiologist brings to the practice.
